This is a dream of every professional footballer to play in the This confirmation show on earth. Its a lifetime achievement to represent your country at the world cup. There is no other experience like that.
Can you imagine, how does it fell that when your country has qualified for the world cup and you are well in the team, but all of a sudden, an injury issue comes and fly you off from the squad? I have no idea. I am neither a pro footballer nor my country has the qualification to play at the World Cup.
But if you have any chance then you can go and ask these poor fellows, who are in the exact position right now.
#1 Dani Alves
Brazil’s main right-back was injured during Paris Saint-Germain’s Coupe de France final vs Les Herbiers.
According to reports, he has suffered a knee ligament injury and that could result in him missing up to 8-9 months of the pitch.
Not only Brazil, PSG will also be sweating on this as they will need to sign a replacement this summer.
Tite will possibly rely on Fagner, Danilo and Rafinha as replacements. Though Marcos Rocha and Mariano are good options, Selecao Boss is not a huge fan of this two.
#2 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
After his sign up with Liverpool in the summer, red-devil fans weren’t too much happy with this signing. Though he started off on the wrong foot but he has been brilliant since November.
This Englishman was well on course to make it to the World Cup with England but his knee ligament damaged during Liverpool’s winning match over AS Roma. Later, he has to go undergo a surgery. This means that he will be unavailable for the 9 months and surely miss the World Cup and half of the next season.
England has a lot of options to replace Chamberlain in the squad, but it will be interesting to see who is going to replace him.
#3 Laurent Koscielny
This Gunner-French defender is ready to be out of the field for a minimum of 6 months. This confirmation comes after Arsenal’s match vs Atletico Madrid. He ruptured his Achilles tendon during the match and ruled himself out of the World Cup.
This might have been the last World Cup for the 32 years old Arsenal defender. This incident is giving France a chance to take a young defender with them to Russia.
The possible replacement for Koscielny can be Kurt Zouma, Eliaquim Mangala, Mamadou Sakho or even Geoffrey Kondogbia. Samuel Umtiti and Raphael Varane will be the main central defenders for France.
#4 Lars Stindl
He came to the spotlight during the time of Confederations Cup last year. This Borussia Mönchengladbach forward was in the best form of his life before he struck by injury.
On April 29th, he suffered an ankle injury during Mönchengladbach’s vs Schalke match and that confirms he has to spend 3 months out of the field.
That means, surely he is in the list of injured ruled out players for World Cup 2018. We don’t think that will hurt Germans a lot while their no1 Thomas Muller is out of any sort of troubles, but Lars Stindl could be an excellent backup option for German Boss Joachim Low.
So far, this is the list. But there are still few weeks to go for the main competition. So, the chance of widening the list is pretty much on.
