It’s quite normal that cricket’s news will be faded by the madness of Football World Cup. But nobody imagined that the Bangladesh cricket team would become such vulnerable and will disappear to nowhere. It’s not been a that Bangladesh became whitewashed by Afghans in the T20s, this time “Tigers” got dismissed for only 43 runs in Test cricket.
However, after a sudden departure of their former coach Hathurusinghe, Bangladesh started very well. Tigers defeat the host Sri Lanka in the first ODI by a huge margin. But losing in the next game, they got back to form of South Africa’s tour.
Tigers could not play their usual game in the series. Since then, it was the beginning of the fall. In the middle, they played well in Nidahas trophy. But that happened because of some extraordinary individual performance. Bangladesh team was inconsistent since then.
Cricket is not a game of only techniques, it’s also about confidence.
If you have the confidence level on high then you can make a mark on the game at least. But Bangladesh team’s confidence level went down to almost level zero. Their helpless surrender to the Afghan spinners is the biggest proof for that. Bangladesh played like an underdog throughout the series and got whitewashed by the Afghans.
After that series against Afghanistan, national cricketers got a huge vacation from their busy schedule. Everybody thought that Tigers would be able to reassemble themselves and go to the Caribbean island with a new look. But nobody would have thought that the new look would be so horrific like yesterday.
After losing the toss, Bangladesh put on to bat by the opponent captain on a green pitch of Antigua. It was known that green pitch, cloudy weather, and heavy wind will talk for the pace bowlers. And the Caribbean pace attack was extraordinary in their last series against Sri Lankan.
Literally, Kemar Roach has destroyed the Bangladeshi betting line-up single-handedly.
His only 5 overs spell send off the first 5 batsmen of Bangladesh batting line-up in no time. But it doesn’t mean that the experienced batting line-up will fall for just 43 runs. If Liton Das did not score 25, then what would be the situation of the scoreboard? Just try to imagine that!

West Indies Response to Bangladesh First Innings:
Surprisingly, in response to Bangladesh’s first innings 43 runs, when the Caribbean came to bat, the batsmen’s dead valley turned into a batting paradise.
Bangladeshi bowlers had to try really hard to pick up only two wickets of West Indies. However, there is still plenty of time left in this match. And if cricket retains its usual characteristic of uncertainty, so many things can happen. It’s time to see whether Bangladesh can bring back a minimum respect for them or not.
