After so many dramatical events throughout the season, Champions League has found its two main competitors for the title. This year, it will be a Real Madrid vs Liverpool Finale at Kiev in 27th of May.
Real Madrid is fine, but I don’t think you guys expect Liverpool to be at the final. In fact, our guessing doesn’t mean anything to Mo Salah & co.
Real and Liverpool both of them are qualified to the final with their aggregate result. None of them was able to win the second leg. Eventually, the result from the first leg has taken them to the final.
Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich: 2-2 (4-3)
At last, both of the team were able to provide some excellent football in this week. Apart from the last week, their performance was quite better in this week. Bayern indicated something really interesting in the very early part of the game. Joshua Kimmich, Bayern’s only scorer from the first leg, scored again inside only the 3rd minute of the match.
But that sign of hope for the Bavarians dosesn’t stay for so long. Real got back into the game with Benzema’s header in 11th minute. The Frenchman struck again in the 1st min of second half. This time it was a result of a terrifying mistake from Bayern keeper Ulreich. He failed to grip a simple back pass from Alaba, though his attempt wasn’t that much convincing at all. Kin and sharp Benzema does the rest to put it into the net.
In the 63rd minute, Real’s former home boy James Rodriguez scored the match equalizer. But that was not enough to qualify his team to the final. This 2-2 scoreline remains the same till referee’s final whistle and Real qualified for their 3rd UCL final in a row.
Roma vs Liverpool: 4-2 (6-7)
Roma went down to play at home along with an enormous equation. They had to create another epic against Liverpool to reach their 2nd ever champions league final in 32 years. But Roma fails to do so.
Liverpool started the match Sadio Mene’s early goal in the 9th minute of the match. Then Roma equalized with ridicules own goal from Milner in the 15th minute, but Georginio Wijnaldum’s goal in the 25th minute brought Liverpool’s lead back. Eden Dzeko scored the Roma’s second goal in the 52nd min and brings back some hope for his side. Roma tried so hard to score more goals in the rest of the match.
In the end, they have been able to finish the match in 4-2 scoreline with two goals from Rodja Nainggolan’s. Although, Roma played well enough to win the match but couldn’t make it to the final. Jurgen Klopp’s all-red army reached the final of UCL after 11 years. Along with the 5-2 result in the first leg, Liverpool finished the semi in 7-6 aggregate.
Can Liverpool beat the mighty Real in the final to prevent them from making the history of third consecutive Champions League title win? We have to wait for the answer till 27th of this month.
