Liverpool is going to host Manchester City tonight at Anfield. Undoubtedly, this the biggest clash of this season of the Premier League.
Many of you can remind the Liverpool vs Chelsea game from the last week. But since the start of the season, a lot of people are now have been talking that it’s Man City and Liverpool are in the race for the title. So, the Premier League game involving both clubs is more likely going to be the decider of the title.
Actually, the head to head games of top six sides could decide the Champions League top six places. Regarding all this situation, this is a tough battle and biggest as well.
Supposedly, Liverpool is the only team in the Premier League right now that you can believe they can beat Man City. Of course, there is Chelsea with a new coach, but Liverpool’s start in this season will make you believe so. Jurgen Klopp’s disciples are on fire from the start of this season.
On the other hand, Manchester City is currently are on the top of the table of the Premier League. Despite this, both the side has the same point, but City is ahead of Liverpool by the goal difference only.
More importantly, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool beat City thrice in the last season, one in Premier League and other two are in Champions League. So, they are psychologically ahead in this game. But Pep Guardiola’s disciples will try hard to make new stats, that’s for sure.
The Liverpool player to watch out is Virgil Van Dijk. We think Liverpool looks really solid in defence since he has come in. With Van Dijk being there at the centre back, the opposition couldn’t see that weakness in the defence at Liverpool team that they have seen in Klopp’s team in the past.
We have mentioned Van Dijk because the front three is absolutely superstar. You don’t need to talk too much about them. Since the last season, the front three containing Sadio Mane, Mohammad Salah and Roberto Firmino, is coming to the pitch and doing their job fantastically. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s almost the world record sign goalkeeper hasn’t had too much to do. What he has been asked to do and he is doing in the main.
Instead, Manchester City is relying on the same old faces. Aguero with his last season goals and Sterling is also there. But there is a problem for Guardiola, Aguero is still goalless at Anfield in his all nine appearances. If City wants to break the shackles, he had to do something with this bothersome record.
Benjamin Mendy’s injury is also hurting Guardiola. Despite Man City’s manager has a good alternative choice with Aymeric Laporte, but everyone knows Mendy’s calibre.
Like always, David Silva in the charge of the midfield. But there is a probable good news about Kavin De Bruyne in this game. This Belgian midfielder is out of the field from the first week of this season. But he attended City’s last practice session to face Liverpool.
