Nigerian Striker Eleta Kingsley gets Bangladeshi citizenship

Nigeria born striker Eleta Kingsley is now officially a Bangladeshi citizen! From now on, here is no issue left for BFF to consider him for Bangladesh national side.

Eleta Kingsley married a Bangladeshi girl name Liza in 2012. This couple has 6 year old daughter. He applied for the citizenship on behalf of marital purpose in 2014. Finally, he gets the confirmation from the Home Ministry today.

Kingsley is a very familiar name for Bangladesh domestic football since 2011. He joined Arambagh KS in 2011. He has played for BJMC and Bashundhara Kings for twice in his BPL career as well.

He scored 5 goals in 5 appearances for Arambagh KS before the pandemic strikes. Although he is yet be seen in any club’s kit after football return to the pitch after pandemic.

Now he officially becomes Bangladesh’s citizen. But this wasn’t a easy going for him. He has to make a lot sacrifices for it. In fact, he had to sacrifice the citizenship of his motherland Nigeria.

After playing for a long time in Bangladesh Premier League football, now Kingsley is eying to play for the Bangladesh national team’s Red-Green kit.

According to FIFA rules, any footballer who hasn’t represent any national side, he can be consider for any national side if he gets the citizenship of any specific nation after playing 5 years in that specific nation’s league football.

Here, in terms of Eleta Kingsley’s possibility to be in Red-green kit, Bangladesh football team’s English manager Jamie Day come up with an usual reply. He said, ” If Kingsley perform well in league, he will be consider for national national side. There is no exception for him.”
