Mirpur is ready for Mashrafe’s final and Famous Five’s 100th appearance

There is no home series for the Tigers before the World Cup. Perhaps, Tiger captain ‘Captain Fantastic’ Mashrafe is eyeing on to the England World Cup for his retirement. So, it is quite certain that  Bangladesh-West Indies series second ODI will probably be Captain  Mash’s last match with the Tiger’s red-green T-shirt at Mirpur’s ‘Home of Cricket’.

This is undoubtedly an emotional moment for Bangladesh cricket. But his last match’s performance with the ball and the eternal captaincy is rising the regret rather than the emotions of his absence.

However, Tiger fans could expect a little hope while team’s spin bowling coach Sunil Joshi said: “Hopefully, this will not be his last match at Mirpur, we want him to play more.” Even in his 200th match, the way he bowled and leading from the front, it is really fantastic. “

Whatever, Mashrafe may not return to here at Mirpur anymore, but all Tiger fans are hoping that Mirpur’s ‘Home of Cricket’ will give a perfect farewell to the ‘Captain Fantastic’ Mash.

Meanwhile, besides Mashrafe’s last match, Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium is standing in front of another special occasion. In day’s match, the love and reliance of Bangladesh, the ‘Famous Fives’ will be at the International Cricket field for Bangladesh for the 100th time.

Actually, the metaphoric word Famous Five (Pancho Pandob in Bangla), comprised with the senior fellows Mashrafi-Shakib-Mushfiq-Tamim-Mahmudullah, is actually given by fans and media with the pure love for them.

It was just 12 years ago, in 2006, the Bangladesh Cricket team, who had only 3 wins in their all 147 international matches, is now going to play the World Cup as a ‘Dark Horse’. Actually, this will help you to understand the importance and the contribution of the ‘Famous Five’ for taking Bangladesh cricket to this sort of position.

Bangladesh cricket’s ‘Famous Five’ has won 47 matches and lost 48 matches in between all the matches they have played so far. More importantly, Bangladesh is consistently playing well from the 2015 World Cup.

And at the same time, the ‘Captain Fantastic’ Mashrafee, taught everyone to fight till. The number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has given a wonderful service to the team throughout his career. In addition,  Tamim Iqbal provided a lot of consistently great base for match-winning totals. And in the middle order, this team has a man like ‘Mr. Dependable’ Mushfiqur Rahim. And the ‘Unsung Hero’ Mahmudullah Riyad has done his job silently in his entire career.

Now, to play with this two extraordinary occasions, Bangladesh Tigers have no other option than ensuring the series with a win in the second ODI. And no one in the Tiger camp is thinking differently, that’s for sure.
