Ravi Shastri Indian crickets main coach say that Indian captain Virat Kohli is feeling much better after struggling with back pain in the 2nd test at Lords. Kohli suffering with back pain and in tremendous pain while batting during India’s innings defeat in the 2nd test.
He is moving much better and feeling much better and improving day by day Ravi Shastri told in a Press Conference two days ahead of the third test against England at Trent Bridge. India’s batsman barring Virat Kohli has struggled for the second successive Overseas tour this year. Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul Cheteshwar Pujara and AjinkyaRahane have been in off form in England and the team has not even spent much time practising ahead of the 3rd test.
In fact, the Indian team took a five days vacation after the ODI series and they have just played one warm-up match ahead of the test. The practice match was initially 5-day match but the Indian team management cut shot by a day.
Ravi Shastri said this is not a single player game. Batsmen from both teams have struggled as we know. When the occasion demands it is a mental resolve. How an individual put his mind over matter and mental discipline will be the key as far as a batsman are concerned going forward even in this test match.
The Indian team did not have any negative bones and stress into their squad. Players needed to now show some mental discipline if they want to bounce back at the Trent Bridge.
The condition has been tough in England in fact after beating by the England bowler the Indian batting lineup at Lords. James Anderson said even England’s batsman would have struggled in those conditions.
Shastri wants his team member to believe in themselves. He said this Indian team has, of course, come from behind before many times. The most recent they came back from a shaky start was the 2015 series against Sri Lanka but England is a different challenge altogether.
He said just believe in yourself you have been in this position a couple of times before and you have responded. One thing for sure Indian team has no negative bone in this tournament.
England was lucky because the conditions favoured for them at Lords, but that is no excuse. It can happen to any team, Indian team is without a negative bone wanting to win.
