Atletico Madrid again beat Barcelona after 2016 by 3-2 score line in the Spanish Super Copa semi-finals in Saudi Arabia on Thursday. World missed another El Classico because of another semi-finals Real Madrid beat Valencia. So Super Copa will surely go to Madrid’s team.  The pursuit of the El Classico at the Saudi visitors’ backyard was not fulfilled this year, at least.

Both team played with their best combination. Barcelona had a better half in first half of the game, but were held scoreless by Atletico Madrid. They created pressure on opponent but nothing happen. After finishing first half Luis Suarez handed with Joao Felix and got yellow card.

Simeone brought Koke on at half-time for Herrera and within a minute Koke had Atletico in front from Angel Correa’s clever assist. But after five minutes Barcelona hit right back through Leonel Messi and Griezmann made it 2-1 after five minutes. Jordi Alba’s inch-perfect pass found Luis Suarez, but his powerful head saved by Oblak but couldn’t save Griezmann’s. Messi got his second goal if VAR didn’t canceled his goal. Last ten minutes Atletico Madrid showed their magic. At 81 and 86 minutes Morata and Correa scored. Morata scored by a penalty and Correa scored by Morata’s assist and made score line 2-3. And Barcelona couldn’t comeback.

After the match Atletico’s player Correa said, “It is a very different game, it is very hot weather and very tough for us but luckily we were able to turn things and win. We got the victory because of our faith, we were looking to win the game, we did the and we are satisfy”

Barcelona were not happy after the match, as well as Saudi’s visitors. Saudi’s visitors want an El classico in the Super Copa’s final. Real Madrid already won their match but Barcelona couldn’t. Saudi’s officers want to make a big business from the Cup. Before the semifinals, Barcelona’s coach Valvarde said, “The key is to become a football business. And if you do business, you must earn income. That is why we are here (Saudi Arabia). This is completely different from the version we adapted. It was the first title of the season. That was good to me. After switching, let’s see what happens. It’s good to have four teams but I don’t know how good it is from a sports perspective. “
