Asia Cup 2018: Weird Decision by the ACC, the Super Four schedule is fixed before the group stage ends

Two days ago, Asian Cricket Council aka ACC has set the schedule for the Super Fours of Asia Cup 2018. Yet, when they have set this schedule, there are still two matches left for the group stage.

What a strange move! Before the end of all the group stage games, the ACC has decided that India is the number 1 side from Group ‘A’ and Afghanistan from Group ‘B’. Such a weird decision from the ACC creates such kind of controversies.

Although, it has already been fixed that, the top two teams of the two groups will play in Super Four. Even the four teams will play with each other once in the Super Four, so group champions and runners-up have nothing much to do. But, How the ACC has guessed the ‘A-1’ and ‘B-2’? It’s still a mystery.

But to penetrate this mystery, you do not have to be the Sherlock Holmes or any Rocket Scientist. The ACC has taken this ridiculous and controversial decision to ensure an extra benefit for the ‘Host’ India. Because this Asia Cup was supposed to be held in India.

From the beginning, India wanted to play all their matches in Dubai. So that, they don’t have to face any travel fatigue in the extremely hot UAE weather. In order to fulfil that demand, the ACC has already set the schedule before the end of all the group games. India was liberated from its strategic journey from a journey of one and a half-way road between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

However, the other teams have openly shown their frustration on this decision from the ACC. Whenever there is a questioned of any controversial issue during any of the tournament, Tiger Captain Mashrafe always tried too passed away with diplomatic answers. But in this case, he is very surprised and dissatisfied with this consideration of number ‘2’.

And he openly expressed his dissatisfaction. He said, “It is very disappointing, before the last game, we were chosen as the second team of ‘B’ group. We have come here with a plan, first, we will play against Sri Lanka, if we win and play well, then we will face the runners-up of group ‘A’.

Later he added, “Whether you talk about the group stage or the Super Four, there is a rule to manage everything. We are moving away from that rule, it’s really sad.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan media has already brought accusations that the ACC did this to provide benefits to India. Pakistan captain sharply criticized the new schedule. Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed said, “If there is a game in Abu Dhabi, then all the teams will have to play there.” Travelling is such a big thing, it is difficult for you to travel 90 minutes in between the game. “

However, Bangladesh will have to play two back-to-back matches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for two days after considering as ‘B-2’. Whatever, after playing the first match of the Super Four against India at Dubai, Bangladesh will play the other two matches in Abu Dhabi.
