Asia Cup 2018: Tiger’s Training camp starts from Monday

The Bangladesh National Cricket Team is going to start the practice camp for the Asia Cup from Monday. The Asia Cup will be held in Dubai on Sept 15, 2018. The Bangladesh cricket team will leave Dhaka on September 9 for the Asia Cup.

At the end of the West Indies tour, the Tigers went to Eid Ul Adha’s leave. BCB announced 31-member preliminary squads before the Eid holiday weekend. 6 Asian countries are participating in this year’s Asia Cup, Bangladesh is one of them.

Bangladesh national team batsman Tamil Iqbal has broken the Eid holidays silence as Sher E Bangla National Stadium on Saturday. Meanwhile, when all the members of the team and senior officials of BCB are busy working on Eid holidays the left-hand batsman of Bangladesh national team has been seen to practice in the net under the supervision of coach Salahuddin.

Tamil in the recent times has been seen putting extra efforts in the nets and skipping rest of days. He was seen to be doing exactly the same at the start of the West Indies series. which is why he could have achieved an optimistic success in that series.

In the one-day series, Bangladesh won by 2-1 against the Caribbeans. And Tamim had 2 century in three matches. Later in the T20 Series, Bangladesh again defeated the Caribbean by 2-1 where Tamim Iqbal scored a half-century.

“I believe one needs to work hard during the good times because then your mind remains happy and fresh and you are able to concentrate on your training properly. while during bad times or when you are off from the mind remains distracted and it becomes hard for you to concentrate” Tamil explained the reason behind his extra work out in the nets.

Mohammadullah and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will not be available from the first day of the camp. In order to perform Hajj SaKib is in Saudi Arabia. In one or two days he is expected to return to the country. Shakib is first expected to meet the BCB medical team to determine the status of his injured little finger on his left hand and then decide whether to join the camp or go for surgery.

Bangladesh cricket board is expecting Shakib to participate in the Asia Cup. But on the other hand, Shakib feels that it is very necessary to do his hand surgery now. The Surgery will see Shakib rested for at least two months.

On the other hand, Mahmuddulah is now in the West Indies for the Caribbean Premier League. He is playing in Caribbean Premier League for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

According to BCB source, the right arm all-rounder has been given NOC from the camp as he is a regular playing member of the Patriots in CPL. So Mahmuddulah will directly join the Bangladesh cricket team in Dubai.

The practice camp will continue till Thursday. The primary announced squad of Bangladesh cricket team will work on their strength, conditioning, and fielding. After a two-day break, the Bangladesh cricket team will be divided into two groups for their skill and gym session on September 2 and practice till September 6. After this BCB hopes that they can announce a 15 member team.

Sunil Joshi Bangladesh cricket teams spin bowling consultant cannot stay with the national team during the Asia Cup. According to source the former left-arm spinner has been raped by the Indian National Cricket Academy and will thus be unavailable for Bangladesh in the Asia Cup.
