Argentina Beat Brazil by 1-0 at the Maracanã Stadium

Finally, 28 years in a row, the wait is over. The drought is over. The curse is broken. The wait is also over for Messi with a major trophy for Argentina.

The little magician deserves this more than any other player.

People asking who will win Copa America 2021 Brazil vs Argentina have their answer right now. Now they can also ask how many times Argentina has won the Copa America title. Well, it’s fifteen times with the current title.

Brazil has always won the title every time they hosted the tournament. But this time is different. For the first time, they faced defeat as a hosting nation.

The final was actually energetic and Argentina was looking confident throughout the whole match. They even made commemorative jerseys of the champion.

Throughout this tournament, Argentina scored 12 goals including the only winning goal of Angel Di Maria.

The first happiest moment of this match came when Rodrigo Di Paul launched an inch-perfect pass and Ángel Di María’s wonderful lob in the final to secure the title. Di Maria just justified his selection with this beautiful footwork.

Though Lionel Messi didn’t score in the Final, he was the real star of the show. He assisted five times and scored four goals. He was even named the Best Player of the Tournament.

After the final whistle, Argentina TV declared “Argentina Champions, Lionel Messi Champion!”

Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni said, “This is a very big title.” “I hope that Argentines can enjoy it. The fans love the team unconditionally and I think they identify with this side that never drops its guard.”

He also said, “If you knew the way that he [Messi] played in the Copa America you’d love him even more,” “You can never do without a player like him, even when he is not fully fit like in this game and the previous one.”

“In the end, he [Messi] did not throw in the towel and he succeeded,” said Scaloni.

“We are talking about the best footballer of all time and everyone knew how important it was for him to win a title with the national team.”

Messi also said, “Many times I dreamed of this.”

“I had a lot of confidence in this group that became very strong since the last Copa America. It is a group of very good people, who always push forward, who never complain about anything.”
