So far, it’s been another disappointing tour for Bangladesh cricket. After a cleansing ODI whitewash for Tigers, can they avoid the a T20 whitewash here against the strong Black cap squad?
Well, it was predicted that Bangladesh’s New Zealand tour will be a hard one for the visitors. Specially, without a veteran like Sakib, it’s always turned out hard for Bangladesh in any circumstances.
But it was not expected that Bangladesh will fall apart in every department in every game!
Bangladesh were clearly out played in every department in every games throughout this tour. However, they have shown some resistants in the second ODI, but some horrible fielding display let them down eventually.
When it comes to T20, Bangladesh failed to prove their consistency throughout their history. This New Zealand tour is no exception as well.
However, Soumya Sarkar, Bangladesh’s top performer from last T20, is still hopeful for better outcome in the last game. This southpaw batted brilliantly in last T20. His 51 from just 27 deliveries gave his side a glimpse of hope but couldn’t finish it of in style.
“Some days bowlers are doing well, some days the batters. We can beat anyone if we perform together in all three departments,” said Soumya during a virtual press brief on Wednesday.
“We couldn’t click as a team throughout the series. Had we clicked together in all three departments, victory could have come earlier,” he added.
Bangladesh have only one match left in the series. They will be eager to bag at least a win after 31 straight losses against New Zealand on their home soil.
Soumya believes it’s possible.
“It is possible. We only have one match left. All we have to do is perform well in batting, bowling and fielding. And if we can perform well in all three departments, I believe we can win tomorrow’s match,” a hopeful Soumya concluded.
Lets see, wether Bangladesh can avoid another T20 whitewash vs New Zealand or not. If they can, then it will be a huge confidence buster for this broken Tiger squad.
