Bangladesh cricket team has just been able to win 12 Test matches out of 111 test matches played so far. Though this stat could have been better. But we will try to get the best out of it. We will count down to our top choice in this part.

#3 Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, Colombo, 2017

Before the start of this particular match, Bangladesh falls behind by 1-0 in the Test series. Anyhow, they needed to win that match to draw the test series. Another thing, it was Bangladesh’s 100th Test match as well.

Host Sri Lanka put 338 runs in their first innings with a magnificent ton from captain Dinesh Chandimal. In reply, the whole batting unit of Bangladesh batted really well and put 467 in their first innings. Then Sri Lanka managed to score 319 in their second innings. The target for Bangladesh was 191 in the last innings. Bangladesh batted sensibly and managed to achieve the target by losing 6 wickets only.

#2 Bangladesh vs England, Mirpur,  2016

After losing by just 22 runs margin in the first match, Bangladesh was looking for a better result in the second match against a strong English Test side.

Bangladesh managed to get 220 runs in the first innings. In reply, England managed to score 244 in their first innings. Later on, Bangladesh batted sensibly and managed to score 296 in their second innings. So, the target for England was 273 in the last innings, which seemed to be a really tough ask for them.

In the end, the balanced English side couldn’t go any closer to the target and bowled for just 164 in the innings. Actually, teenager Mehedy Miraj destroyed them single-handedly with a match figure of 12 for 159.

#1 Bangladesh vs Australia, Mirpur, 2017

Undoubtedly, this is the most historic Test win for Bangladesh cricket till now.

Bangladesh scored 260 runs in their first innings on a spinning truck which was producing turns and bounces from day one. Then the Aussies got bowled out for just 217 runs in reply to Bangladesh’s first innings. Shakib Al Hasan took 5 wickets after playing an attacking knock of 83 in the first innings.

With such a valuable lead of 43 runs, Bangladesh had been able to get another 221 in the second innings and set a target of 265 runs for the Aussies. Especially on a spinning truck like that, it was really a tough ask for any team.

However, David Warner scored an excellent and almost took the game away from Bangladesh alongside Steven  Smith as his Partner. But world’s no 1 all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan had different things going on his mind.

He bowled magnificently throughout the match. He had a phenomenal 10 wicket haul for 153 runs which contains 5 wickets in both innings. Bangladesh got a marvellous victory of 20 runs and beat the Aussies for the first time in their history of Test Cricket.
